LOCI architects are inspired from ‘genius loci,’ which refers to a location’s distinctive atmosphere, or “spirit of place” (Christian Norberg-Schulz). Architecture means to visualise the genius loci and the task of the architect is to create meaningful places to live in. The studio and its concept were founded by Jamie Anderson, a former owner of ‘aiolou architects’, continuing his vision to create different and personal places, with attention to every single detail. Our aim is to provide design ideas to meet your needs, inspired by the local landscape and culture. We are here to make ‘your dreams our inspiration’ and make the experience with Loci enjoyable from beginning to end, offering you a highly creative, practical and ultimately personal service. Whether you decide to buy a property for holidays or for ‘a new home experience’ and whether you are planning to use your space for leisure, we are here to understand your needs and visions and take decisions together. We are architects, designers, project managers and stylists and aim to inspire trust through our professional attitude and experience. Our approach to each project is based on the belief that every place has its own set of forces and distinct character from the local architecture and materials through to the surrounding terrain, climate and even culture and history of the area.

Our design solutions are at one with the place and the surrounding land and nature, while at the same time incorporating the contemporary trends in interiors, materials and furnishings. We love designing with simplicity where architectural and styling elements play their own role as highlights in a personalised scenography. We like spaces to be personal, reflecting through objects and materials the personality and the habits of the user, whether this involves cooking, relaxing, inviting friends for dinner etc., by choosing and combining architectural styles, contemporary yet vintage at the same time, offering a new space that from the start feels like home.

We work with many shops and architectural salvage yards in Athens and the Peloponnese to source beautiful old objects that can be re-used and incorporated into our designs. These range from larger items such as reclaimed timber floors and hand-crafted doors through to smaller details such as marble basins, clay pots and individual pieces of furniture. We have an extensive library of finishes and materials which are being constantly updated, having also created a trustful relationship with many companies in furnishings, appliances and textiles.
